Our Mission and Impact

The Fund for Public Schools has consistently and rigorously dedicated itself to supporting New York City’s public schools since 1982. The Fund enables philanthropic seed funding to test and accelerate promising ideas within New York City Public Schools (NYCPS), tracks impact and promotes learning, and supports the scaling of solutions that drive excellence in education across NYCPS.

The Fund has secured unprecedented investment from foundations, businesses, and individuals, raising more than $602 million for the city’s 1,800 public schools and approximately 906,000 students.
