Joyce joined the Fund for Public Schools in 2015 after spending more than 30 years as an administrator for New York City and Massapequa, Long Island public schools. At the Fund, Joyce is responsible for managing school-based grants, such as the Edward R. Murrow Chess Team, the Big Apple Awards, and Neighborhood Grants from the Walentas Foundation. She frequently visits schools to ensure that there are open lines of communication between private funders and schools.
Prior to joining the Fund, she served as an Assistant Principal and Principal in a variety of city and suburban schools. In her leadership roles, she has mentored many new teachers and administrators, ensuring that students were led by the best, brightest, and most innovative staff. In her role as Principal, she was responsible for the academic, social and emotional achievement of her students.
Joyce received a B.A. in Elementary and Special Education from CUNY-Brooklyn College and an M.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision from CUNY-Baruch College. Her post Masters educational concentration in reading and math were completed at Hofstra and Adelphi Universities.
